Different But the Same

Girls, Girls, Girls.  I love twins!  And yes, these two are twins. Like the title says, "Different but the Same"  Born on the same day, same loving Mum and Dad, same brother and sisters etc. etc etc. but they are both so unique from personalities to eye and hair color.  What a treat to have met them.
Also a special thank-you to Mama for coming all this way for the session.  Thank-you!

Back in the Studio Again- Maternity Session

I'm back!  I have loved every outdoor session this fall, but I am happy to be in studio again.  My studio allows me to be master and commander of lighting, and backdrops, perfect for the control freak deep inside of me.
Thanks to this beautiful mama for coming in with her beautiful girls.  Mama is gorgeous and stylish, the girls are fun and funny.  What a session and oh my, what amazing pix.

Urban Modern Family Pix

When Mama E asked me for modern and raw family portraits, I wasnt sure what to expect.  With a little research I rose to the challenge, with a my own spin.

I'm lovn the urban feel of their backyard, with the tires that Mama had set out.

She is a great photog too and I look forward to seeing more of her work.

Thanksgiving Monday Family Portraits

I have known Little Miss Princess for most of her life.  Over the past 2 years, I have seen her family several times to photograph some pretty great milestones.
This time  they brought company.
Cousin, Auntie and Uncle joined in for fall portraits.
Getting to know the families better, was a great part of the day, watching the 2 partners in crime who were ready to leave us for a life of adventure was another,  but  letting me know that next time they will be bringing Grandma and Grandpa is the best.

Next Session Please

These are photos from the next session this weekend when the family was together for Sunday dinner. The weather was gorgeous until the last 10 minutes when the ladies hair begun to blow vertically from the wind and then it promptly began to rain.  What timing!  This location was a green space just behind Nana and Papas home in North Calgary.  It is such a beautiful location I am almost considering loosing my status as a South Calgary Snob...almost!
Thanks to all the families.  The afternoon was a hoot!

The First of Many for Thanksgiving Weekend

What a Busy weekend!  Several shoots, and turkey x 3(we needed something different and opted for a greasy burger Monday night!). 
Like the title says here is the first post from the many shoots I had this weekend.

I am in love with these pix, and cant stop looking at them.  The evening autumn light is delicious.  The kiddos were 1 part crazy, 1 part creative and 1 part photo-genius.

Calgary Maternity Photographer

Oh my poor neglected blog.  It seems to get worse and worse every month. Although I have been busy with weddings and bellies and babies, I don't have any excuses only a resolution to do better.  Feel free everyone and anyone to email me at jophoto@telus.net for a much deserved lecture if I get too far behind again.

So, as a peace offering I am posting a sideshow.  Yes, first ever.

The idea originated because I can`t narrow the choices for the post down to a few.  The beautiful Mum featured wanted and outdoor  session and I jumped at the idea as it was also my first outdoor maternity session.  A loving couple, warm autumn light and a touch of joie de vivre  combine to make this not only my first outdoor maternity session, but the best session yet.
